Mobile Ladies - Any waxing experts

Hi all,

I have been having some real issues since I moved back to the UK with getting my waxing done, never suffered this with my salon in Melbourne so I am genuinely stumped. I have tried 3 salons now and having exactly the same issues.

Basically I get my bikini waxed, I used to just go when I was going away or I felt like I needed it specifically doing, but this was causing real issues with the salon down the road here, with very painful waxes with blood spots and ingrown hairs after and the
therapist saying that the hair was too long.
So after some advice from them I started going every month like clockwork, which I have done since Christmas, 4 waxes now from 3 salons.
Each time I have been left with burn marks on my skin, the wax didn't feel hot and nor did the process feel painful, but I am left with basically angry tomato red strips of skin which are quite tender and hugely unsightly.
I'm just stumped. Genuinely.
Like I say I have tried 3 different therapists, and am going at 4 week intervals and I just can't get it to stop.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas of better hair removal measures for that area, I get rashes if I shave.
Thanks

could be a few different reasons, wax not hot enough will pull at the skin leaving it red and sore, not pulling the skin tight enough again can cause the skin to be left sore and bruised or it could be that you have a slight reaction to either the previous wax treatment, the wax itself or the after wax lotion.
It does sound like they are just not pulling the skin tight enough before they remove the wax strip so that is pulling a layer of skin off.

You need to give your skin time to heal longer than 4 weeks as the skin will just keep being lifted off.

Sounds to me they are using cheap wax that isn't pulling the hair from the root, just ripping it and your skin off in one go! Did you notice what colour the wax was? Did it look like honey? They're probably not heating it up enough and pulling the strip off fast enough or even in the right direction. If you can find a salon that specialises in Hot wax or uses Tea Tree wax as that's what I swear by. Have done for 16 years now!
It's unlikely as you've seen 3 different therapists but they don't sound well trained to me. Good luck in your search

Maybe try another salon,it can be like finding the right hairdresser for you so to speak 😉I have tried so many including a company in London that is a specialist in different "flavour" lycon wax which left me bruised and in discomfort for days after.
I then found a local salon that only uses brown or white lycon wax and have been going to them every 4-6 weeks for two years now... there is absolutely no pain now too!

Are they using hot wax or strip wax? How was is left to cool on the skin and pulled off and striknwax is remived with the strip of Muslin/paper?

I personally wouldn't use a salon that didn't use the hot wax method on intimate areas

My legs I will use the cheap stuff; bikini line, underarms and eyebrows you're only coming at me with Lycon - that stuff is amazing!

I do find it better to stick with the same salon though, you build up a relationship with the beautician and I do think that that helps as they start to 'know' you better.

Oh I hear you, I used the same salon in Melbourne for years, but I just wasn't going back to those places, I look like I've been tortured

Its funny though as where I got it done in Melbourne didn't require me to 'stretch' the skin myself at all. They just waxed me.
Everywhere here gets me in convoluted positions trying to stretch myself, so that could be it.

I was going 4 weekly as my first couple was like 8 weeks, and I was just getting so many blood spots and irritation as they said was too long/thick. I can't win..

Definitely strip, whereas I am used to hot, but I have now been to all the salons in the town that offer intimate waxing to the level I want, and all just had strip.

I might have to consider going into Manchester or something I guess. I really don't want to have to stop unless I have to

Yes it was a sort of honey colour and definitely not hot wax.

How often do you recommend waiting between each wax? Do you have issues if the hair is too long?
Thanks so much
