BA flight voucher

This morning I resigned myself to the fact that we’re not going at end of April so have requested my flight voucher from BA. Whilst disappointing I have managed to get a couple weeks off in nov to go back, never seen the Xmas theming at Disney so looking forward to that. I’m going to pay deposit on a holiday whilst the dates are available . Does anyone know how long it takes for BA to process the voucher it says Upto 7 days? Was wondering if it will be emailed quicker than that

I've been waiting 9 days so far. I received an email 4 days after applying (when BA had optimistically promised a 48 hour turnaround), telling me I would receive it within 7 more days, which would have it arrive by this coming Wednesday. We shall see.

Any reason why you've applied for the voucher now? If you waited for BA to cancel the flight, you would get a full cash refund, which could be spent anywhere.

The voucher does not have any additional financial value to compensate for its restriction to BA, it's mainly a benefit for those whose flight has not been cancelled (as in my case, I applied for it the day before I was due to travel on a flight which did still operate). The only risk of waiting is a possible withdrawal of the voucher offer.

Hiya, thanks to your help, I went with the voucher as I now know when I will be (hopefully )back this year and when I looked at the BA website got a good deal for going back in November so paid the deposit and the voucher will more than cover the rest . If I didn’t plan on going back this year I would have waited for the flight to cancelled and got my refund as u suggested

Apparently your original booking reference is your voucher, you simply call in and quote that old booking and they can use the funds from that for a new booking.
