When my younger son was born in April, I had to be admitted at 8 months to the maternity hospital, to be monitored prior to delivery. For the 2 weeks I was in the unit I watched the cherry blossom burst into bloom.
To this day seeing the trees blossom reminds me of the worry of a problematic pregnancy and the relief at the safe arrival of my son.

Ours is an early blossoming one.
We used to have another that bloomed May as it was always in bloom for my birthday in May.

Love that. My absolute favourite tree. My granda used to have one at the bottom of his garden it was huge and so beautiful. When he died and his house went to new tenants I walked past one day and saw they had chopped it down. It broke my heart because it reminded me of him so much. Last year I planted one in my garden and its beautiful and now each time I look at it it reminds me of my Granda x
