I have to say that I'm very surprised by this as a) the NHS haven't been given our delivery dates yet, and b) we were advised there would be a shortage this year so ALL flu vaccines would be going to the NHS. 🤔

Pharmacies were asked to place their orders months ago (March I think) and will be part of the NHS flu vaccination programme; expected to be the biggest flu vaccination year on record.

The number of private vaccinations administered compared to NHS in the last few years is quite small. NHS E&I announced a few days ago that pharmacists could do 'flu vaccinations in care homes (staff and patients) so they'll obviously need the stock to do that.

We get ours free due to age and health issues, we’ve booked with Boots as our GP surgery isn’t anticipating receiving until end September/early October, with Boots we are booked in 2-3 weeks earlier.

I've booked in at Boots. Spoke to one of our GP receptionists and they didn't know what was happening regarding the vaccination programme this year.

My DH, had a letter from his GP yesterday regarding the flu jab, he has booked into their first clinic on 12th September. Clinic is being held in the towns Civic Hall rather than the doctors surgery, to enable social distancing.
