I would be OK with not receiving a revised lower price.
I would check to see what the availability and cost is presently. If it's cheaper I would cancel it and book again at the lower price. I might cancel it because the tone of the communications as described would put me off going. Only proviso being that we may want to go strongly enough that we go anyway. |

When you get the invoice it should quote the TAX point and this is the point at which the relevant VAT rate applies. But they do not have to pass on the saving but do need to clearly show on the invoice the correct VAT %. But if you booked via booking.com you could cancel and book direct, this saves the establishment as they don't have to pay fees to booking.com (there maybe rules preventing you or venue doing this)
