My first thought was it was altered to fit better with her eternity ring.
My husband wanted to "upgrade" my engagement ring but I didn't want to ... I don't wear it every day but it has sentimental value but my wedding ring is diamonds and sapphires so I actually like just one ring better It looks a bit too blingy the two together even though they are the same type of stones.

Really Mrs PPM laughed! I’m a bit immune to gynae stuff as my first job was a lab technician at Aberdeen Maternity hospital. You would not believe the things the maternity ward nurses used to do to me as an innocent 19 yo lad!

I don’t really see the problem with her adjusting the ring. It’s her ring, it doesn’t lessen the sentimental value of it, and I suspect if she is happy then Harry is happy

Don't think the OP said any of those things you have suggested but more that she wouldn't do it herself.
Not sure how it ‘jumped up a notch or two’

I both replied to the OP and made some comments of my own. I didn’t suggest the OP thought or believed any of my comments at all. If the OP had any issues with my response it is their issue to respond to as they see fit, not yours to jump in haphazardly in their defence.

I dont wear either my original engagement ring or wedding ring! My wedding no longer fitted and was very patterned so couldn’t be made bigger. My engagement ring was very cheap and I never liked it that much anyway, so I got a different one. My bad x

Well done to Megan , my engagement and wedding rings haven't fitted back on my fingers for about 20 yrs , so I don't wear anything on my wedding finger despite being married for 28 yrs !
Dh hasn't even noticed !
I should maybe get them made larger but feel liberated not wearing them

I know some people who have done this to commemorate a wedding anniversary or the birth of a child.
Exactly my thoughts
Maybe it was a joint decision to celebrate their marriage and first child
Either way it's personal to them.
I think the wearing of jewellery is so personal.
DH died over 3 years ago and I still wear my wedding, eternity ring and engagement rings. Doesn't seem quite right to me to take them off, however my NZ friend was aghast I was still wear them when she visited last year
She thought I ought stop wearing them completely or if I really needed to wear them to wear them on the other hand

Exactly! It’s hers to do what she likes.
