Flying into Miami
We are flying into Miami next year and I have booked an airport hotel for the night. We Drive to Cape Coral sometime the next day. We are now thinking of perhaps cancelling the hotel and driving up to FL for the night instead. Spending the day there then driving over to Cape Coral late afternoon. Would you say this is a good plan or too much to do straight after a flight? I googled the journey and it’s 1 hour and ten minutes approx

I think that's doable. I wouldn't go much further though. Hubby drive straight up to Orlando from Miami at Easter, not something we'd do again.

Thanks, just thought it would be better to have a full morning in Fort Lauderdale instead of an airport hotel lol.

Cape Coral would be about a 3 hour drive and as long as I could get there before midnight I would do it.

Getting Excited
|
Hi,
We have flown into Miami for the last two years and have driven straight to Cape Coral without a stopover. Its about a 2:45hrs journey quite pleasant if you take alligator alley (I75) not busy at all. I am used to this type of journey with my job, its really not a problem unless you hate driving. This year we will do the same although staying in Estero (Fort Myers) for a change. |
