Flying with Virgin from Belfast
We are scheduled to fly out from Belfast to MCO on 13 August. Having never flown from Belfast we have booked the on site Maldron Hotel also flying Upper class would be interested to hear anyone's views of the Causeway lounge and flight experience. Thank you.

We flew on Monday 16th July in UC.
I left a short report in this thread - https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...8#post13369028. The Causeway Lounge is one of the worst Lounges that I have ever been in - only slightly better than Chennai in India, and this only because it’s a little cleaner. Very basic foods and a mediocre selection of drinks. You have to pay extra for upgraded drinks but it is “probably” just about better than sitting in the main terminal. The flight was fine - the aircraft are showing their age and the cleaning could have been better. Luck of the draw meant an empty immigration hall on arrival but the cabin crew had allowed the upper deck to offload along with UC and PE. |

The Causeway lounge is grim. Food poor. But there are free basic drinks (wine, beer, spirits & soft).
It was very busy when we were there a couple of weeks ago. You do get to use the priority security lane with UC and dedicated checkin. The flight was just like any other UC flight - so fairly good. Nothing like Aer Lingus though. The big problem we had was immigration in Orlando was bad. We had 90 minutes and there we lots behind us and am sure some were waiting 2 hours. |

Hi
Having just returned last week here's my take on it. Causeway lounge is small compared to other lounges but was ok for the hour & a half we spent there.Good selection of alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks . Snacks on our visit included wraps, biscuits, tayto crisps & fruit. There are no announcements in the lounge but we left to go to the gate about an hour before and walked straight on to the aircraft. Having flown the last 10 yrs with virgin in premium we were really looking forward to this flight and were not disappointed. The seats are spacious with room for someone to sit on the ottoman if you have company. The seat turns into a bed at the touch of a button. Cabin crew were very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble for them.Service was 1st class and food & drink choices were excellent although the fillet of beef on the return journey was absolutely beautiful which was to our surprise as usually the return leg is below par. If you are not aware virgin also have the Disney Springs check in and we use it every year , it just seems to take some stress out of the last day and airport experience. |
