Just curious as to why you only get to the parks around 11am, as those first 2 hours after park opening are a really great time for low crowds and wait times.

Today we checked out of Fairefield Inn at around 10.30 and ordered a Lyft to take us to our next hotel in North Hollywood. The trip took about an hour and was pretty uneventful, thank goodness, it cost about $58. Our room was ready on checkin. This is a lovely hotel, it's got really lovely 1970s opulant Hollywood vibes to it.
We can see the towers of Hogwarts from our balcony 🤣 we unpacked and then caught the free shuttle to universal and had a mooch around city walk. We ate at Panda Express, purchased some voodoo doughnuts for later and had a browse in Sephora. We then caught the shuttle back to our hotel. We really like this hotel but there are a couple of negatives.. it is next to a really busy freeway, our room overlooks it and there is a lot of traffic noise. I have also had to call reception as there was very loud and aggressive shouting nextdoor and they sent security up to them. I think they are shouting on the phone. It went quiet for a while but has started up again now but I did hear someone in there trying to shush them. There is a party door between which is why we can hear so much, just hope it stops when we want to sleep. Update: they kicked off again so I called reception and asked to be moved. They were very apologetic, moved us straight away and gave us a $50 food/drink credit onto our room. Security were walking the corridor but it had gone quiet and when security knocked they wouldn't answer! Well we are now unpacked... again, let's hope for no more dramas. Edited at 04:48 PM. |

Enjoying the trip report thanks
Its The Garland you are staying at isn't it ? I had my heart set on it and booked for our November trip Sorry to hear about the neighbour but Glad to see they were responsive in moving you ! After I booked it DOH said he had looked at the map and could see it was right next to a freeway & wondered about the noise !He always looks at the maps and I never do ...Would you recommend on the basis of your stay so far or would you avoid ? Are some rooms likely to be quiet ? Have a great day ! |

Sounds like you're having a great trip! Just wondering if I can be a bit cheeky and ask if you can link to your anaheim hotel? I've had a look for myself but I don't think any of the ones I've found are yours. TIA

I’m loving this. Apologies if I’m asking something you’ve already stated, but how long are you there for in total? We go in November for 5 nights in Anaheim then 5 in Hollywood. We are also not driving, I’m just thinking that your trip sounds similar.
Thanks x |

Hi, glad you're all enjoying the trip report.
Yes it is the Garland we are staying at, it is right next to the freeway and our room is the side that overlooks it. There is a bit of traffic noise but I didn't notice it at all overnight tbh. You could always request a room opposite so overlooking the pool as that would be quieter?it really is a beautiful hotel and I would recommend it. Also so pleased with how they dealt with the issue of noise neighbours. |
