Yellowstone National Park Closed from 13th June.
It was announced yesterday that Yellowstone National Park was to close and would no longer allowed incoming visitors to enter the park due to absolutely extreme weather conditions. The NPS authorities along with local officials were evacuating visitors from the North Loop of the Park with plans to do the same for the South Loop. Gardiner which lies at the North entrance to the park has been completely cut off and residents were suffering from a lack of water and power.
Park authorities are waiting for flood waters to subside before assessing damage to washed out roads, bridges and infrastructure. |

We have friends in silver gate , they were evacuated , the pictures they’ve sent us are unbelievable , we compared them to the ones we took , when we stayed there, can’t belive it . The roads in Yellowstone in places have been washed away .
They are saying it’s going to be months before they can get back to normal Jules

The NPS and associated local services have done an amazing job and hopefully relief will come to the surrounding towns who must be suffering so badly.
