This is so true. I love getting others opinions, but if someone asks me for a recommendation on a restaurant or something then I immediately assume they'll hate it and wonder why I sent them there 😆

It’s why I often don’t comment on the “recommend me a restaurant” threads. How can you possibly know what someone else will like? The only thing I might comment on is if something was particularly good or bad quality.

I was told, this morning by BF , it is on 'our' list of restaurants/bars/eateries we will try later this month (Disney Springs one)

I just go where I am told - I kinda know it will be good if he has chosen the venue

We've finally done it - the Gideon's experience.

No virtual queue on the day we were there. About a 10 minute wait that was all. Going through those doors was brilliant at last after years of seeing vLoggers do it. It didn't disappoint. It's very small - but they've got it just right.

So the cookies - we bought two classics and a bag of 6 bites. We haven't got to the classics yet. The bites are huge and more than enough in a single cookie. Chocolate is extremely rich and yes, the occasional hit of salt is a shock at first but lovely.

Is it worth it? All about perspective and personal opinion. To us - yes, every dollar. It was an experience that we'd looked forward to and didn't disappoint. So that was enough.

Sounds like you had a great experience and very lucky with a short wait.
I suppose for me I don’t know the background of it so it’s just another shop. Is it supposed to mean something? All the creepiness?

Definitely a point to the theming! Their website explains the backstory nicely 👇

gideonsbakehouse/about/

I think what I like about Gideons is that it is a small independent, Orlando based business.

Yeah I still don’t get it but as long as people enjoy the cookies and experience I’ll leave them to it. I doubt we’ll be back though.

Quick update - finally got around to the chocolate and pistachio cookie. It was absolutely gorgeous and worth every cent. Someone posted about not enough actual cookie - I get that completely. If it was cheap ingredients padding it out I wouldn’t be happy - it’s not. Full pistachio kernels for example.

Now we’ve done it - will we go back again this trip? No need. Next trip (whenever that is) 100%!
