Amsterdam
Any recommendations for hotels in Amsterdam please. We would like to be within walking distance of the city centre if possible.

We were in Amsterdam last weekend.
We stayed in the Park Plaza Victoria and it was very nice. Breakfast was good too. It’s situated across the road from the train station and within walking distance to Dam Square. Side note- Booked through BA executive club gaining over 6000 avios and paid with Amex gaining even more points. Result!

We stayed in two at Easter...
Hotel Conscious Westerpark - a short walk from the Jordaan area and not far from a tram stop. Modern hotel with bright, spacious rooms (we had a room for three and it was a great size) and there was a lovely bakery/cafe nearby that was great for breakfast Hotel Mai - more central and a short walk from the train station. More expensive than the other hotel, very plush with an oriental theme. Near the red light area and central shopping district. Out of the two I probably preferred the first one - if you walk into central Amsterdam you walk through the Jordaan area which was lovely and less touristy than the other area. I'd also say that the first one would be better for families whereas the second would be more suited to a romantic weekend for two. |

We stayed at Misc Eatdrinksleep. Lovely family place, old Dutch house with narrow stairs. Everywhere was walkable or it was easy to jump on the tram.

Yes, we are looking at 4 nights in September and the prices do seem pretty high. We were booked to go for my 50th in 2020 and have just started to think about re-booking

Been twice and both times I have stayed at Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Central.
Hotel is just across the road from the station and everywhere is easy to reach from there. Hotel was fine for us and although last time was in 2019 it was a decent price

Just stayed at Hotel Owl for 3 nights. Within less than 5 minutes walk of bus stop from airport, right by the Leidseplein, tram and restaurants.
We had room 36, which was bigger than most in these hotels, a lovely breakfast each day and really great staff.

We stayed at Sint Nicholas. Was lovely and central, close to station, not far to Ann Frank's House or Dam square. We walked everywhere. Even got the train to the Ajax stadium for a concert.
