Hot Hot Hot

So the weather for this week and next is up to and around 100°F... ranging from 36°C to 44°C.

I'm quietly worrying because two of my lot are very fair skinned! We know to get free water at the kiosks, we will reapply sun creams often, wear hats and I have bought cooling cloths.

What other tips has anyone got about for keeping cool in the parks and what about queueing for rides? I hope it won't affect us getting to do all the rides we have planned. But my fault for choosing the hottest time off the year to go 😁

I’m going end of August. I have a handheld usb fan and a neck usb fan. I’ll be using both at once when necessary.

The hottest orlando has ever been is 103f (39c) recorded 8th September 1921. So if it gets to 44c that will smash the record!

Where are you seeing this? We are going on Thursday (and fully aware of how hot and humid it will be), and the forecast seems to be saying 33-35 (or thereabouts) for the two weeks or so we're there.

Browse the shop’s for a quick cool-down. Also, take advantage of the indoor air-con rides for the same reason, with COP at MK one of our favourites for this, although there are plenty of others.

Small travel sized spray bottles (the type you can buy in Poundland/Primark etc) for cosmetics are great filled with cold water to cool you down in the parks.

When I was last there in August, it was around 35, but with a 'real feel' of 40... HOT!
We coped by hitting parks early and leaving around lunchtime for a dip and then returning later.
Took cooling towels but only used them once. Bought a misting fan which the girls loved but was a pain in the bum to carry around

Not sure if you are staying on or offsite, but if you have a freezer take some frozen bottles of water with you to the parks in a cool bag. They'll stay frozen for ages and can top up with water from the fountains for a constant supply of iced water. We take squeezy bottles of squash to help with the flavour!

Sorry I think I panicked, it seems its the heat index, (which I just had to educate myself on) will be up to 110°F. Its been reported on by a few independent florida weather pages on FB. But still it's a combination of temp and humidity so it's going to be tough going.
I saw that someone who's there now said it was 30°C at 9pm last night, thank god for air con!
