Virgin Upper Class reward

So after waiting nearly 40 minutes to get through to Virgin Flying Club to book reward seats using a companion voucher and points, I gave all my details to the agent and she asked what flights I wanted and checked availability. There is so she has now put me though to the Upper Class line where I have joined another queue I was expecting the Flying Club agent to be able to do the whole booking

Hopefully the reward seats will still be available when I get through.

I really have no idea how this reward seat thing works. I know that my Husband has earned a credit card reward voucher. Is this what you're doing now?

I would imagine they are pretty busy today after their announcement of reward availability on every flight

This is my first booking but have had a lot of advice on here!

About a year ago we applied for the Virgin Atlantic Credit Card plus which costs £160 a year and because we spent £10,000 in the first year had a companion voucher. For normal reward flights you can book online but to use the companion voucher you need to ring the Virgin Flying Club. It is a BOGOF voucher but if you are only red tier (I am) if you want to booker Upper then you pay half reward points in addition but premium and economy are BOGOF plus taxes.

Stick with it... I called to book reward flights and they got us a great flight. We had 2 companion flights and with miles it cost us £670 each for upper on Saturday. I couldn't understand how the agent worked it but... after booking we still have nearly enough miles for another flight each. She was great and played with the options . I think in the end she booked us on a premium and upgraded it with a companion and then used the other companion as a free flight ? ! I may be wrong but what I do know is when I was looking online with miles it would have taken all we had . Good Luck .

Well it took over an hour and a half but I got what I wanted for May 5th next year.

The agent I spoke to was wonderful and looked at all the options to try and get the best use of the vouchers and points.

I thought we just had a companion voucher but she said there was an upgrade one too so in the end it cost us 90,000 points and £1995.12 for 2 upper class Heathrow to Orlando return flights!

Sounds exactly what happened with us - she looked at all the options and ended up booking premium and upgrading. It was a lively Welsh girl called Stacy that I spoke to. I am going to see if there is a compliments email to be able to thank her.

Absolutely brilliant. You must be thrilled with that!

We have the same CC as you so fingers crossed we can get a similar deal for 2024.

When we book the flights we will be silver tier but we lose this level in 2023. I'm not sure how this will affect the booking?

We just did UC 11 long days ago and it was brilliant, hopefully on our next trip we will have all the vouchers etc and won't have to pay in full again

It will be the first time we have flown upper so very excited. I think the difference in tiers will mean that if you want upper with a companion voucher you will have to pay half points rather than it be bogof.

I thought we only had one voucher so cost us less than I planned in cash and points and have over 60,000 points to go towards the next flight!
