Charcoal BBQ

We really need to replace our battered B and Q portable bbq, does anyone have any recommendations for one that’s not going to cost as much as a small car! We need it to have a place to put the cooked stuff/uncooked stuff and a bonus would be somewhere on it for DH to put his pint 😂😂😂

Keep checking this site- twice a day. As soon as they come back in, they’ll sell in hours. They sell them out in hours every year, but they are getting more stock in soon.

You cannot possibly buy a better barbecue for under £400.

You can grill on it, smoke low and slow, or get it to tremendous heat for pizzas or searing. It’s a Kamado oven like a Green Egg or Kamado Joe. Green Eggs and Joes are 1k+ (Going up to 3k) which is why this sells out immediately.

And it has 2 shelves

If you want to spend less, get a Weber Kettle, but they are not a patch on a Kamado.

I’m selling mine (which has been flawless) next month as I’m upgrading to a Weber Summit Kamado (ordered November, still waiting for it), the Aldi Kamado being my gateway into Kamado cooking (I just want a much bigger one now but the Aldi is fine size for most people), and I couldn’t recommend the Aldi enough. They sell immediately second hand also. Someone I know sold one a year old for more than he paid new. Good barbecue gear holds it’s value like gold. Before I got the Aldi Kamado I had a Weber Smoky Mountain and sold that after 5 years for £20 less than I paid for it.

Not sure if this would be of interest but we’ve had one of these for 6 years and zero corrosion so far. A bit different as it has both gas and charcoal separately so you can choose depending on how much time you have (or use the gas side to keep stuff warm once cooked on the coals

And your husband would love it - not only a place to rest your beer, there’s even a bottle opener built into the right hand side. What’s not to love!

We just brought an Aldi half gas half charcoal BBQ £149.99.

For the money its fabulous, we like having the choice of either the ease of gas cooking or smokey classic BBQ.

It also has a bottle opener

Bought one of these last year...

manomano/p/cosmogr...el_id=20997610

Replaced my old brick built one that I had used the previous 20 odd years... the new one is like a Rolls Royce compared to my old one... best £300.00 I have ever spent.

In summer months we fire up the BBQ on average a couple of times a week. If it's just me and the missus I've got one of those small drum ones for ease... obviously larger gatherings the bigger ones come out... with the new one I reckon I have cut my cooking time by half from the old brick built one... cooked for a party of 50+ for our daughter and her going to Uni party last August... couple of hours all done... and then I could relax... the old brick built I think I would still be cooking !

I am amazed at how much BBQs can cost! We bought our first one this year from Argos [[argos/product/5981...m:bbq:1:55:1]]
Not sure how to do links but it's an oil drum BBQ with cover and tools for £50.
Used it a few times and very happy with everything except no table on the side of it. We definitely don't use it enough to justify one of the fancy ones above.
