Both crust. The whole of the outside of the loaf is crust.

The Crust (Greater Manchester). I love it toasted, a bit of salted butter on then a couple of slices of cheese and zapped in the microwave for 20 seconds. Especially after a night out.

The crust is the best bit, especially if it’s a big doorstep smothered in best butter

Definitely heel . Some are saying crust but that’s the top side on a batch loaf or plain loaf
