Penny dreadful was brilliant but it’s quite gory .
Another for haunting of hill house or bly manor although that wasn’t as good.
Oh Locke and Key on Netflix might appeal to you.
That was quite good

Try the Ghost Whisperer. Nice gentle US series about a woman who can talk to people who have died but not passed over.

I was even younger than that and I still remember Pipes 😭
What made it worse was that it was filmed not far from where we lived at the time so I was terrified 😂

Just wanted to add The Outsider to this. It’s a mini series based on a Steven King novel. One of the best things I’ve watched in a long time. It’s very intense though.
