Pretty sure the MDE coaches were actually Mears coaches originally so my bet is you'll be on the same coach when Mears takes it over as you would have been with MDE - you'll just be paying for it!

Mears have been doing transfers for years. We booked with Virgin Holidays in 2010 and transfers were included. It was a Mears coach that stopped at about 3 Disney resorts before ours.

We didn’t know we could have got the ME and asked for a refund.

Us too. Excellent deal with VH including resort fee and parking so couldn’t pass it up. I love the location and Swalphin is the only way we can afford it.

I think it was one of your posts that made me look! We were booked at Buena Vista Palace and the Dolphin came in at about £300 more - more than worth it for the location.

Agreed! Let’s just keep fingers crossed that we get there!

Just to add that as far as parking, Park parking is free but you now have to pay for overnight parking at all disney hotels, unless you are staying at a DVC resort on points

It says it’s complimentary parking at Dolphin for Virgin holidays customers?

I've checked VH price for the Dolphin for the 2 nights I need in December

Cost = £427 with 'free parking', Deposit required £350 (!)

With Travelrepublic

Cost = £361 with no free parking, Deposit required £15.

So cheaper by £61, in dollars that's $91

Parking is $29 a night at the Dolphin. No such thing as a free lunch ;-)

I think both bookings also attract a resort fee of $39 a day

With Virgin resort fee is included. It’s also an upgraded room to a lake view. We’re staying 14 nights (so £350 deposit not as painful) and I looked at all combinations. VH at the time we booked was significantly cheaper than TR (and others) and in addition you get an upgraded room plus parking and resort fee included. Deposit is higher and cancellation fees apply but it was such a good deal we’re taking the chance.

I’ve just seen something about a new gelato kiosk opening in the Italy pavilion and the menu doesn’t have any snack credit logos on it at all 😦
