Simon Calder has it spot on -much as though it pains me to agree - sense of humour needed.

Just for once I found something that I agree with Simon Calder about - it did make me smile despite the latest Government briefing.

"Mordor is a late addition to the green list, being slightly more accessible than the South Sandwich Islands.
Rumours that Ryanair plans flights from Stansted, though they will actually touch down in Gondor (known as Mordor West).
Narnia also on the cards for the next green list."

You have to be a Tolkien/CS Lewis fan to appreciate the joke though.

Apologies to all for my sense of humour - it has been a long day.

Even Simon Clader admits he got it wrong

"My green list predictions hopelessly wrong.
Yesterday
@PPaulCharles

and I speculated.
He scored minus 7, I scored minus 13.
I'll get my sealskin coat and set sail for Tristan da Cunha."

Perhaps they should both go to the now re-named Greggs Sausage Roll Islands sure it is better than a South Sandwich Island . . . . #freeSouthSandwichIslands

At least on this occasion Calder wasn’t claiming insider info like Paul Charles does.
You’d think PC would come out and say he had a good source etc- but nothing I can see.
Will anyone believe what he tweets again?

This is very funny... But also a little depressing...!

Anyone know if Virgin have released a schedule yet for Ascension, I fancy an all inclusive. Can anyone recommend a hotel...?

I still don’t understand why people put so much stock by a random bloke on Twitter in the first place! when I read yesterday about the 5pm timing thing I said it was nonsense!

There's some nice Nissen huts on Air B&B.

I know it is a lighthearted post, but due to no travel, the hotel has shut down, perhaps forever...

Better news... the uk provided Ascension with its vaccines for the whole population, so they were the first island to have 100% vaccination.

The good news as well is that late last year the last of the 13000 Mines the Argentinians laid was disposed of.

So the beaches are now safe - allegedly!
