Onsite prices
Hi
I quite fancy staying onsite next year. I think it would be lovely for the children. I like the look of the moderate resorts, thinking maybe the Caribbean beach. My dh though is not keen on the idea of the ddp as he doesn't want to be tied to eating in disney every day. My question is, once the free ddp finishes in November, will the prices stay exactly the same for the hotels? Is the ddp actually "free" or do the prices reduce when it's not on offer? If the prices do remain the same then obviously we'd be better off booking before then even if we did eat out sometimes and getting the ddp, but if the prices change then maybe we should wait and book without ddp? |

We were originally staying at WL this October, and booked when free DDP was running. After it ended the UK Disney site offered 40% off all deluxes resorts, so we cancelled our original booking and rebooked with the discount, which saved us £2500, and we'd never spend that much money on food. It only worked for us due to the discount, and it's not a guarantee they'll offer it again, but I think there's a good chance they will.

hi, as the DDP is for stays of more than 5 days, are the discounts they offer tied to a certain length stay also (impossible to answer for sure but if anyone knows what they've done previously)

I,m sure the cost of DDP is included in the hotel price now, the cost of staying onsite has risen considerably since it was introduced. The one reason we now don't stay on site anymore. The tour operaters don't seem to lower brochure prices when its not on. Ithink you can eat much cheaper and more variation at a reasonable cost off site.

You do get some offers after free dining has finished, but these are usually limited to the deluxe resorts.
The prices for the hotels are the same free dining or not. However you do get exceptions with Old Key West and Saratoga Spings resorts. These are discounted around 35% and offer free dining. Kim |

if you want to stay at a moderate then it may be worth booking sooner and qualifying for the free dining plan you'd only get qsdp so free to grab & go as and when plus the snack credits are a bonus for the kids suprising how quickly the cost of them adds up when paying oop you dont have to use all the credits but ideal to use for breakfast to set you up for the day if nothing else.
sometimes they offer discounts on the uk site but like said often for deluxe resorts which are more expensive to start with not to say they wont discount lower resorts but as they tend to sell quicker esp with the free dining plan offer it doesn't seem to happen as much. the usa disney site tends to offer more discount deals then the uk one. Its a hard decision as there is no way of knowing what if any offers they will do its more a if your happy with the price then book and try not to keep looking afterwards. |

Thanks for the replies. We'll think some more about it. I'm scared of booking then changing my mind about where we want to stay! X
