Charge on credit card from Disney

Hi guys

I recently booked 7 tickets for MVMCP and the tickets promptly arrived on thursday - very happy about that!

However, when I checked my credit card statement there are 2 debits from Disney. One for the total ticket cost including tax and shipping. The 2nd debit is for $70 and I have no idea what it's for. Both transactions have the same reference no. Only difference is the expected transaction says WDW DISNEY TICKETS and the 2nd says DISNEY RESORTS - WDW.

Has anyone come across this before? I'm going to contact them to sort it out, but I have a feeling it won't be resolved quickly - going on past experiences!

Any help would be welcome.
Thanks!

We had this happen to us, for exactly the same amount $70! we contacted Disney and no one could tell us what it was for and same as you it just said Disney Resorts WDW.

We called the credit card company and asked them to investigate it.
Cut a long story short the credit company re imbursed the amount for us as no one at Disney could find out what it was for or why had been charged.

I would call your CC and tell them you are disputing a transaction.

Thanks Mackem!

I wonder is this something that's happening to people a lot? I have sent a mail to Disney today so hopefully I can get to the bottom of it! It's surely Disney and not MasterCard that's at fault?

I'll let you know the outcome! Interesting one!

Thanks again

It doesn't have to be Mastercard's 'fault' in order for them to investigate. The legal standing (roughly, others will be able to word it better) is that credit card companies are jointly responsible (with the company you bought from) for failures in supplying goods and services or erroneous charges.

Obviously it's sensible to contact the actual company you bought the goods or services from first to see if you can get a quick refund, but you don't have to wait until they refuse a refund - you can contact your credit card company any time.

Chapter and verse can be found in Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

Thanks for the info Ericsmum!

I have emailed Disney and notified the credit card company. Fingers crossed it won't take too long to sort out!

Cheers!
