BA (AA) Flight cancelled August 2021 - options?

BA have just emailed me stating that they have cancelled my AA codeshare flight on 14th August. I thought that in this situation that they would automatically rebook me on to the next available flight (there are 3 others scheduled for that date)? Obviously, I will give BA a call tomorrow but has anyone else had this happen to them? What were you offered? I'm still fairly optimistic that we will go in August, so not interested in a refund just yet.

I received an email today from BA but it was an internal flight (JFK-MCO). They automatically rebooked me on an alternate flight. Hope you get it sorted. 👍🏻

Just to update this, in case someone else is ever in the same situation: I rang BA today and after a lonnnnnnng wait to speak to someone, I spoke to a lovely agent who booked us onto the next available flight. So we will arrive into LA about 2 hours later, which is fine - we will just be happy to get there! I'm not sure why it wasn't done automatically, I wonder if it was because we have car hire with our flights?

I must echo what a few other people on here have said, the customer service I have received from BA throughout this last year has been excellent.
