Mickey’s Backyard Barbecue

Looking for information on using dining plan credits. I know it’s a 2 credit meal, but will this cover tier 1 seating or just tier 2? If tier 2 can you pay extra to upgrade to tier 1?
Anyone done this?
Many thanks.

It's tier 1 or 2 - your choice, I did it last year and loved it so much, such a fun evening and went for tier 1 (was also on dining plan)

You can’t use dining credits for tier 1 ... I’ve done both tier I and tier 2. When I did tier 1 you got early access to characters and better seating. I didn’t do tier 1 this year as the seating was a waste as my daughter didn’t sit down ...

Definitely can’t for tier 1 I had deluxe plan and had to pay. It says on website guests using dining plan can only book category 2 or 3 for dinner shows. I paid OOP for category 1 seats unless it’s changed since July 😊

It's definitely changed then but since I did it rather than since you, both myself and friends did it (separate times) in 2017 and both booked tier 1 as we got the early access and were seated to the side. I hadn't heard about the change, slightly disappointing to read

Thanks all, tier 2 it is then! (I don’t think a tier 3 exists even though it’s on the wdw site!)

I don’t think it was worth paying the extra for - wouldn’t pay it again

We visited last year and had tier 2 seating (using the dining plan). It was a brilliant night and we didn’t sit down too much as we were dancing. However when we did need to sit down the view was perfect x

Looks like it will be closing at the end of the year, so will probably swop for Storybook Dining at Artist Point. May wait and see a few more details on it first.
