Here's a funny one. Last year arrived in NY to pick up car on Saturday of labour day weekend. They didnt have any Full size sedans left and tried to give me an SUV that would leave all our baggage on view throughout our road trip. Stuck to my guns... and ended up with a Jag. Result!

However, I wasnt thinking that when I got out of town and entering a freeway, found I was stuck in 2nd gear, with engine screaming ... the automatic just would not change up. Help. Limped off at the next exit. 😢 Was about to call the rental company when i figured out I had brushed one of the two plastic levers either side of the steering wheel. 🤔 And that was my introduction to flappy paddle gear changing. Who knew!? Had me worried. Doh! 😀

Nearly as bad as the first time i went into a hotel and found the room lights wouldnt work. Took 10 mins that time. Doh! 🤣
i have this on my VW, i can never remember how to switch off if i knock them so i have to pull over, switch the engine off and start again

Yup. That's pretty much what i did for 2 weeks 😀.

At least, once I figured it out, I could flick the paddles to shift out of 2nd until an appropriate stopping place.
I guess these paddles are what we are meant to call "progress" 🤔
