Apologies for the car input. I was thinking of park hopping in Orlando as a whole. Read the OP wrong I guess.

Would agree with the MK and Epcot being a great pair. We did MK, monorail to Epcot and then walk to HS on the last trip and it was a lovely day. Just don’t plan too many things in each park.
I would agree about the mins walk, would not choose to do it in the height of summer though.
Happy planning 🙂

You need to get from the park to the car, drive to the second park, park, and get to the park entrance. Even if the drive from park to park is only 15 minutes, the getting to and from the car triples the time.

Even if our car is in the first park lot, we will leave it there and take WDW transport which will take you to the park entrance. This is especially helpful if one is going to the MK.
Well we use the car to park hop at WDW all the time, it’s our own little home from the heat. We have a cool box with frozen drinks in it, and even store fresh tshirts and sox in the box.
( A cool set of fresh socks after a few hours in the park is awesome)
You also get cooled down between parks with the aircon on full. You can also nip out to a reasonably priced off site eatery for lunch etc as a break.
Each to their own, and this works for us.

I hop all the time at WDW.

MK-Epcot and Epcot-DHS are good pairs. MK-Epcot because of the monorail, and Epcot-DHS as they are really close together and you can take a bus (fast), boat (slow), or walk between the two.

AK is further away and not as well connected, but it's still easy to hop using the park to park Disney buses.

I'll usually budget an hour for park hopping, to take into account time needed to exit the park, walk to the bus stop (or other form of transportation), wait for the bus, travel time, then walking to the entrance of the park and security. If it's faster than an hour then it's a nice bonus!
