Paying for a meal with Disney gift card?
Hello
Can I just check if we are able to pay for a meal on site with a Disney gift card? We are going for our honeymoon and as a wedding gift some friends have booked us a meal at the Port Orleans restaurant Boatwrights and will be giving us a Disney gift card to cover the cost. I’m sure this must be fine to do but just wanted to check. It’s a lovely gesture so just want to make sure it’ll all go to plan |

Yes you can, as long as it's a US gift card and you can't use UK gift cards over there. Might seem obvious, I know, but people have asked about that on here in the past.
Alternatively, you can charge the meal to your room and use the card to pay of a portion of your room bill.

Oh OK, thanks for that info. So does it mean they need to purchase the gift cards from a US site? Sorry for the obvious question! Not really sure how it works!

Yes I think you can only get US dollar Disney gift cards in the US. Not sure what the best way is of purchasing this from outside of the US though (I would be worried about validity/genuine/etc issues if not purchasing from Disney directly or a major retailer).

They could look at an e-gift card:
shopdisney/gift-cards Or maybe a US travel card preloaded with dollars for you?
