Mobile Car hire thoughts for Miami?

Hi all,
We are planning our may trip but for the first time are flying into Miami. When we went in 2016 (Orlando int airport) Alamo were the car hire co of choice.
What's the best car hire company for Miami?
Any tips or advice welcome.

Thanks x

I would say at any location where you can select your own car, and Miami is one of them, then Alamo is the company of choice.
Good fleet and a good business model as renters do like some control over what they get.

Bear in mind that research for the keen prices is the key.

Whichever of the big names is cheapest.
They all have reasonable cars and a mix of good and not so good staff.

Hi. Sorry for joining this thread but interested in it as we are flying into Miami for the first time in August. Are all car hire companies within the airport? Can you do skip the queue like in Orlando? Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance 😀

The car rental companies are in the transport hub which is accessed via the MIA mover (monorail). Its a bit of a walk before you get on the monorail.

You can skip the queue with Alamo.

I would avoid companies like Dollar/Thrifty & Europcar (Advantage) as their toll systems are really expensive and many of the tolls in Miami are cashless.

I used Alamo this year (actually last year now!) without issue. Booked via UK site with quidco too - currently at 7% cashback.

Pickup in MCO, drop off MIA.

Hi Ninny,

I've just booked for Miami with Alamo Brits and I've just printed off my STC ticket so yes, you can do it at Miami.

If you haven't booked your flights yet, BA are worth a look. They do a good price into Miami on a flydrive. Car hire including the insurance is included. We have just booked for this August and did the same last summer.

We have booked with AVIS through BA flying into Miami in may. We are driving up to Vero Beach after landing to stay for a night, then on to PORS the following day. Has anyone any tips for getting through Miami at 4-6pm heading north for Vero Beach?

This is the part of the Holiday im most nervous about as we’ve never flew into Miami before but them BA flydrive prices were too good to turn down!
