Your post made me curious about what I'd paid in the past. Even as recently as 2016 I paid €184 per ticket. For 2018 it's €286 . A huge increase in 2 years. Probably as VB is on stream but still a massive jump.
Even more I paid €2200 in total for 5 21 day Ultimate Disney tickets and 6 US tickets. Now 5 21 day ultimates alone would cost me more than that. The price hikes for theme park tickets in Orlando seems to be getting out of hand- a d yet it just keeps getting busier!
Only SW parks seem to have kept a handle on their prices.

we buy the combo ticket that covers everything. Disney, universal and the sea world parks. dont do discovery cove as its just too expensive. I booked our tickets at the start of this year for next years trip through pillinger world travel at £3308 for 3 adults & 2 kids. i think adult tickets were £672 each. back in 2016, just 3 years earlier, it cost me £500 for an adult equivalent ticket. My parents booked tickets in august. theirs came in at £720 pp! i believe theyve gone up again since then too

Universal prices just about doubled around 3 years ago. I think it coincided with all the Harry Potter upgrades.

Like Disney, they will keep putting up prices until numbers drop - Which they don't seem to.

We went Orlando for a week at Easter, bought the Universal Ticket for £210x2. We went to the parks 3 times during the day, 1 night for Mardi Gras and a half day at Volcano Bay. We well got our monies worth. Unfortunately as we are aware everything is going up in price. Florida is not the most reasonable of holidays any more for us Brit’s.

We only visited 3 times last year. We had been two years before and found the new rides disappointing. I am in a situation where I am finding it very difficult to justify the cost. We used to always go 5 or 6 times in the evenings for a few hours and really enjoyed the park when it was not too busy or hot.

This year will be interesting as we are not booking tickets for any parks. I wonder if we will miss it.

An exchange rate change from 1.8 to 1.29 accounts for a third of the increase.. then there is the investment in Harry P and volcano bay.

Everybody has different opinions, but I believe the most overpriced ticket to be Disney and the best, a D.C. ultimate non swim with 4 parks and free parking plus all food for the DC day at £165 next August.
I place the Universal ticket between the two for value.

I presume by when you say Disney is the most overpriced is that Disney parks does not represent value for money for you and your family?

Yes. That is why we have not purchased one on any of our last four Florida holidays. As I said, that is my opinion. Others opinions may differ and that is to be expected. The fact that my children are 12 and 16, love big rides and are over 54 inches would obviously affect my viewpoint.

For me, generally present in the Orlando area for around 10 days as part of a wider vacation and most certainly off site living, I would not get value out of £390 or so pp plus parking. There will always be a D.C. ultimate and therefore I would only get one visit to each Disney Park.
I can get that DC ultimate and also a 14 day Univeral plus most of my parking for around the same price as a Disney ticket.

Massive increase.

Won’t stop us going mind... although will wait till DS is a little older.
Same for us in 2012. I just can't justify an extra £1000 for the 4 of us now, especially as we spend no longer than 2 days in their parks. Back in 2012 it was a nice add on, now it's a serious consideration and one that I struggle to justify!

Our Disney tickets were £248 in 2012, and are £398 for 2019, so a big rise for them too, but I know that we can easily get 2 whole weeks out of them, whereas we'd struggle with Universal.
