I have done the check in at Disney spring and hang around, (for VH pick up) that wasn’t fun (we had saved disney quest and it took all of an hour, the bus was then late and didn’t have a lift for a disabled passenger, so we arrived a couple mins before they started boarding!?!)
Done leaving bags with the hotel on idrive and say in the lobby/go for food and snack/last minute souvenirs previous 2 times, also not much fun imo (as at lunchtime I’m ready to just get home!)

Next time it will depend on where I’m staying at that point, but hoping either fly with virgin and do Disney spring check in if offsite, or check out early, leave stuff with baggage service and head to a park for a little while.

We never stay on-site, so for us the final day is always check-out of our apartment (on South I-Drive) then off to Disney Springs to drop checked bags.

We then head to Islands of Adventure for rides & lunch at Mythos (NB: pre-reserve - it's not a reservation as such, but you jump the wait queue). We love Mythos, excellent setting & very good food for saying it's in a theme park. Not stupidly priced either.

After lunch it depends on what the weather is doing! Either a few more coasters or something indoors (think MIB: Alien Attack). After that it's time to make the slow journey to the airport - slow as we don't want to be doing it!

We'll either stop off at Aquatica or back where we stayed nearer Premium Outlets on Vineland Rd to shower & change into clean clothes. Dirty stuff rammed into one rucksack as an extra carry-on (we're in Upper Class, so 3 carry-on bags is no problem). The only thing that decides if we stop at Aquatica or back at Sheraton for the shower+change is the weather. If storms are around, Aquatica will close. The pools at Sheraton will also close, but the changing rooms and associated changing / shower facilities remain open as we're still technically registered guests.

We checked out on star wars opening day this year (my OH was not amused). We were told that our tickets were valid for 14 days. If you dont use it on the day you land, then it is valid on your departure day, but if you landed in orlando and went straight to the parks as we did, ticket is not valid on your departure date.

Yeah, I figured on arrival day we'd just get dinner and crash out for an early night, so this should work out nicely for us.

Last time we stayed in the YC. Got up earlyish and checked out, leaving our bags at the hotel. Went to AC and rode Everest and Flight of Passage. Back to the hotel by 11 and had a swim and ice cream from Beaches and Cream then used their shower and changing facilities before spending the last of the snack credits and being picked up at 3 by the Tragical Express.

Usually if flying with virgin and have disney tickets we drop our cases off at DS and go to MK for a few hours, then back to DS to pick something to eat up and head to the airport.

Last year we didn't have disney tickets so after dropping the cases off mid morning drove to the Grand Floridan and had a look round there, got something to eat in the cafe and then off to the airport.

We put a spare set of clothes and deodorants in our hand luggage to freshen up at the airport before the flight.

We are offsite and don’t really want to be going to the park as I don’t want to get all sweaty before the plane etc.

Next time our plane will leave at 7.20 so quite late. Villa check out is 10am.

This year we did the Disney spring check in and then basically went and sat in the airport for a million hours due to hubby having done his back in and couldn’t walk anywhere.

What do you guys do that isn’t a park?
We normally contact the vmc on the day of landing or before, and ask to stay at the villa until 4pm or a time that suits, that way we can still site with our feet in the pool, SULKING , then head out to grab a last meal while , SULKING, before heading to the airport while, you gussed it SULKING! .

We left the hotel relatively late, checkout was 11am which was nice as it meant we didn't have to rush. We dropped bags at Disney Springs for about 10.30am, then went to AMC to watch Malificient (which was fab). That took us to about 1.30pm so we had a last wander around the shops, got some lunch and then headed to the airport at about 4pm. Our flight wasnt until 7.55pm so we were pretty early, but we were fed up of clock watching by that point and it made more sense to just go to the airport.
