If not visiting in May, when next... ?
All am about to type is based on one, single visit to Japan - please bear in mind!
We are all booked to go in May, just waiting for the Japanese govt to open up for tourists really. They do appear to be moving in that direction with typical Japanese caution, I think I read that business people who want to visit now only have to do 3 day quarantine, rather than 14 days. Am not convinced they will have opened up for jabbed people to visit quarantine free by May, so thinking of another time of year to visit, a bit later in the year, as a fall back. Summer months are too warm for me (think Goldilocks and not too far wrong! ) and late summer has much rain, so after reading a few things, visiting early November seems to be a pretty good time to go weather wise. At the moment it is mostly dry and in the high teens temperature wise, and historical data suggests that too - sounds like a nice time to visit. Perhaps a light jacket rather than a full on winters coat. What do other people think of my logic here on when to go? Also helps that the Virgin / ANA Reward Seats for this time will appear in a week or so too! |

We were on our way to Tokyo 2 years ago today! We had great weather, most days it was warm enough for a T-shirt but it did get quite cool in the evening so you definitely need to be prepared with a jumper or jacket. We were there 10 days and it only rained once for a couple of hours.
The Christmas celebration starts at TDR in early November (it was the 7th in 2019) which is another reason to go in November. The decorations, merchandise and entertainment were all amazing

We were supposed to go in Nov 2020 … moved to Nov 2021 … now moved to Nov 2022.
We want to see the maple leaves, and Christmas at TDR. Vaguely thinking of staying at the new Toy Story hotel instead of the Hilton if prices are not too bad. |

We next plan to visit in March/April 2023 for the cherry blossom.
We last visited in mid November. We always needed a jacket but it was dry apart from one day where it poured down. Some pics for an idea of what people were wearing: |

I'm planning on March/April 2023, fingers crossed! Was supposed to be 2022 but on the upside, I have more time to save Avios now!
