Three adults what to say to the Characters

When we have a meal and the Characters come round eg Pooh Bear, chip and Dale we just all go silent and don’t say anything quick photo they are gone in seconds. How can I make the experience last a bit longer, is there anything I should say or what can I say to make the experience a bit more relaxed and fun for all.

Simple stuff like "hi Chip, how are you today? it's lovely to see you, you look dapper in your costume" - think of what you'd say to a good friend when you meet up after not seeing them in a while - it's stupid but that's all that's needed!

When I met Winnie the Pooh in Christopher Robin's bedroom in Epcot I told him I'm British too - he clapped his paws and jumped up and down! The characters love it if you wear tee shirts with pictures of them on it.

The princesses are easier
For Aerial I completed her on her hair and asked if she used a dingle hopper. I also asked her about Flounder and Scuttle.

For Auroa , she was wearing her pink dress so I said good choice, that I preferred the pink to the blue. I also asked her about the fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.

For Elsa and Anna I just said that I come from a land near Arundale and it gets cold but we don't have as much snow as they do.

For Raya, I asked about Tik Tok and Sisu

Basically just pretend you are in their world, and reference something they would know.

Or complement them on their costume, make a reference to how hot it is.

We don’t do characters but I’ve watched plenty of vloggers interact with them and yeah as above they say things like “we’ve been waiting so long to see you again” “Don’t you look great today Minnie, is that a new dress?” “Hope you’re keeping cool, it’s so hot out today” The characters react and they twirl about to show the dress or pant when the person mentions the heat etc… Don’t know how they hear a thing under those costumes but they’re very good at reacting to everything said.

My wife always brings up an incident in EPCOT many years ago which she found funny.

Pooh was leaning over some railings in the garden in the United Kingdom for some reason. As we walked past, I said "you won't find much honey there" at which point Pooh turned around and put his hands to face to give an embarrassed look.

I also had to apologise to Tigger after my daughter tried to rip his head off while having a tantrum but that is (hopefully) not what you mean

Wearing an item of clothing eg if i've put my spotty dress on just like you Minnie - something for them to point or giggle at. Or saying Pluto you're my favourite. Or an autograph book - especially a homemade/personalised one.

In 2014 we did Pete’s Silly Sideshow where Daisy was dressed as a fortune teller. We asked if her crystal ball could tell her when Donald was finally going to propose. She did the ‘put a ring on it’ hand move at Donald across the room!

In Dec 2010 we told Aladdin and Jasmine that our ‘magic carpet’ had been delayed because of snow. They said they didn’t know what snow was as they only had sand. (I didn’t mention about when Jafar sends Aladdin to the ends of the earth…!)

And in DLP last year I told Jafar he should run for Sultan again and he could use the slogan ‘Make Agrabah Great Again’.

I told Sorceror Mickey that I saw his film when I was 4 years old and since then I couldn’t do any housework because I was afraid of brooms.
