Question Wheelchair Accessible Care Hire?

Has anyone rented one recently? Do you have a recommendation for a company?

I was planning on taking my folding electric wheelchair next year but my daughter had to push me in it in manual mode the other day and she said it isn't moving very well. I'd have to buy new batteries for it anyway so am contemplating taking my very expensive new chair (which is it's own stress with hoping that it doesn't get damaged). The new one doesn't fold down as compactly as the old and is heavier. This makes it difficult to lift into the back of a car (we have a hoist here).

So, I'm a bit stuck - do I try to find a WAV hire car even though I'm not in a chair full time, or do I try and find a roll up ramp that we can push the chair up into a boot?

I don't really want to hire a scooter as once again, lifting bits into the back of the car is difficult for us.

Help?!

Hi sorry for late reply

We hired one in may for 19 nights, I have a very heavy powered wheelchair. So we went for one with a fold down ramp at the rear which my chair could drive up. It was really good and easy to strap into position.

I used this company htt ps://floridavanrentals.com/

It also comes with placard for disabled parking, I didn't know this and got a temporary one
