I’m armed with three consultant letters and my prescription. I’ve always been advised to keep my injections in the original boxes, sealed - they’re pre-filled but I’m bound to get the one security agent who asks why they’re not in a clear baggie…. Umm I need to take around 25/30 of them… they literally would not fit 🙄

Also planning on arriving 4 hours before so I can be one of the first through check in and then the security farce commences 😫

I might ask the DIBB to send vibes on the day!
I was armed with all of that, and MAN security insisted (and I big time stood my ground) that I remove Every. Single. Injection from the four / five sealed boxes they were in and let them roam around loose in a security tray. I was very very very not happy but they refused to let me through otherwise. That has never happened to me before or since.

Sheesh.. that sounds absolutely dreadful. I haven’t had that experience at MAN. I’m so sorry that happened to you. I would love to know what they were going to do for you should any of your injections had been damaged in the process. I hope you complained.

I have had them put my bag through the scanner, then put it aside, ask me to open it, open the boxes and then ask to see the letter. But to be honest, that may be because, rightly or wrongly I don’t state I have them at the officer tray point - I figure it will get pulled anyway and I’ll have to explain to the officer who makes me open it so why explain twice?

I did email Manchester Airport once, and they advised sealed boxes, in my hand luggage and to show letter if asked. I’ve always kept that email ‘just in case’ as it makes no mention of declaring them prior to scanning. Although their website does.

I'd email Man Airport again asap and get another email. Can you also get a signed letter from Doctor to say you are advised to keep the packages closed until use?
If asked to do what KarenG was then ask to speak with a supervisor &/or the Airport Doctor.

Yep, emailed them again to have an updated answer. My letter already states they’re to remain sealed at room temperature until use.. also states that failure to allow me to travel with them would be placing my life at risk due to the nature of my clotting. I thought it was a bit dramatic but seeing Karen’s post it may just be needed!

Always get an updated letter too as I’ve seen online people have had issues with letters dated more than 3 months prior.

Feel like they do make it an obstacle course to travel with chronic conditions.

I found the most gorgeous cafe… doing lunch items, desserts and pastries…

This is worth an Uber to Winter Park right?
