The 50th, 50th & 50th Disney trip - April/May 2022, Day 9 - Shopping

The dining report for today is here.

This is a really short one and very photo-lite. We had originally planned to go to Epcot but the weather was forecast to be 96 degrees and we didn’t think we’d cope. I find Epcot the hottest park with all that open concrete. We decided on a shopping day instead and woke up naturally rather than to an alarm. We took our time and headed across to the food court for breakfast. Mum had toast, Marie the big waffle and Dad and I had the breakfast bagel. We sat outside the food court for a change.

It was fine and filled a hole. We went to the Vineland outlets for a wee look around and got a couple of things. I got another pair of RayBan’s for the car to replace the ones that are really fine but I wanted new ones . If I remember I'll take a photo and upload them. They had some money off and cost $138 which translated into £112. I also bought a Michael Kors bag as a present and Marie bought a Kate Spade Minnie Mouse bag. Again photo to follow. I had wanted to buy Skechers for work but the cheapest pair was something like $76. I kind of needed them though and it turned out they had a 20% off for Mothers Day (the following Sunday) so I bought those too. By the time we left it was well after lunchtime.

We were done at the outlets by lunchtime so went to DS. I thought we could try for a walk-up at the Boathouse because I'd seen lots of reservation times and reckoned they'd take us no problem. I was right, it wasn't that busy and we were seated straightaway.
They gave us some nice sweet & sticky rolls to start. These were nice but messy!

I ordered the lobster bisque to start but everyone else just had a main.

The last time we ate here I had wanted the filet mignon sliders but changed my mind and got fish and chips. I was not making that mistake again so got the sliders. Marie got these too.

These were really nice and I'm glad I made that choice this time!

Dad got the grilled fish sandwich.

And Mum got the coconut shrimp from the appetiser menu.

This was a really nice meal and I'm glad we gave The Boathouse another chance. I knew it was probably menu choice last time. Definitely on the list for next time and a good choice for a lunch walk-up as it's really big and has lot of tables.

We then went to World of Disney for the gift card and Marie and Mum bought a couple of things. This isn't very straightforward. You have to find a CM wearing brown as they are the correct people to go and get your gift card. It took a wee bit of time but by the time Marie and Mum had got what they wanted we had $300 of gift cards in my purse.
We took our purchases back to the resort and then went to Walmart for some supplies including more muffins. We got 4 boxes this time. I think Marie is hoping we can take some home . We also got more cookies and cream pie. By the time we got back to POFQ we were a bit peckish so we shared a cheese pizza, garden salad and fries.

Again my note taking stops here. I'm such a lazy note taker I'm going to try and do a live(ish) report next time!

We've never been to the outlets in Florida as I'm not a big shopper, but that will be rectified this trip! I'm glad you managed to find the perfect, completely unnecessary, sunglasses! It sounds like you had a fun day with a lovely lunch at the boathouse, those sliders do look good. But I think I'd go for the shrimp same as your mum for our visit this summer.

We used to go to the outlets several times but in recent years I’m happy to go once or twice. It’s not as exciting as it was in the 90’s .
