Films everyone seems to love but you just don’t get

Inspired by a comment on another thread.

Everyone else seems to rate Elf as the best Xmas film ever made. For me it was a couple of hours of my life I’ll never get back. Was bored the whole way through

My daughter recommended me this film on a flight! Well, that’s a few hours of my like wasted! The film? Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri..🤔

Maybe it was because I was tired, on a long flight, and kept being interrupted by my granddaughter…but I just couldn’t get into it.

I agree about Elf, it’s ok, but there are many better Christmas films.

I’m probably not going to be popular for this one, but all the Star Wars films for me. I’ve watched them, think they’re ok, but just don’t get what’s so special about them. On saying that, I love Star Tours in WDW, and I’ve enjoyed a couple of the Star Wars series on Disney+, especially Mandolorian. But the films, I can take or leave

It is one of those films you really have to sit and watch with no distractions

I’d have to disagree. But then when the first film came out I was a 9 year old boy and there’d been nothing like it before. Was hooked from the opening titles. But I can see why people don’t like it

I do understand that, I have a nephew who was 7 when the first film came out, and he’s exactly the same as you are. He had all the toys as a child (wishes he’d kept them now) and still loves the franchise. I’ve wanted to love it, but sadly, just haven’t felt the love.

However, I do love Star Trek films, so it’s not even as if I don’t like the genre.
