YT’s (Not So) Quick n Dirty trip report.
Day 1- Pre Travel Day
Hi all I’ve started trip reports before and not finished. So I’m going to keep this one basic and hopefully will get it done. Drove down to Heathrow tonight from Yorkshire. Premier Inn Bath Road. We have 2 rooms. This time we are on the ground floor in what appear to be older rooms. Looking very worn in corridors etc. Mrs YT ain’t happy but I told her it’s only for a night. Atrium is the hotel highlight. It was fine the other side last Xmas. I went and asked to move but got a very unhelpful character so I quickly gave up as I’m tired and wanted bed. I don’t think Mrs YT knows I’ve booked it for Xmas as well, I think she wants Sofitel😩 I’ll rough it to save a few Bob. It’s fine but could do with a refurb. No problem getting parking. There’s more right at the end many don’t realise is there- see pic. Flight to New Orleans tomorrow afternoon.

As a fellow Yorkshire man (well, woman) I'd be saving a few bob too! Like you say, only one night, and you'll be mostly sleeping. Hope you have a good flight and a great holiday.

Listen to the wife and get the Sofitel or at least the newer PI at T4 😉. Hope the drive down was ok. I normally drive but have vouchers from LNER that will probably do me for a 1st class trip down to KGX next time.

You put your reg in a machine next morning. We stay there first night down and then do the official Short stay meet and greet at the terminal 5 mins drive away. Pricey but excellent as you just pull up outside the entrance and walk straight in. Coming back your car is straight outside.

I’ve already booked 2 rooms at a great deal of £40 a room- I ain’t giving that up😝
Mrs YT has come around to the idea when I showed her the price. In fairness it’s quiet, clean and beds comfy. Breakfast for 4 is excellent at £19. Drive down great, in Mrs YTs new Sportage which surprised me by having excellent working self driving on it so that’s good for return.
