Shipping medical equipment

Has anyone got any experience of shipping medical equipment to a Disney hotel in advance of arrival? We've just started gathering the equipment (syringes, feeding tubes, catheters, drainage bags etc) and it is an enormous pile. We're worried about whether we will be able to manage the luggage through the airport. Is it possible to ship a box or two of medical supplies to the hotel for us to pick up when we arrive?

Thanks for any advice

Sorry can’t help re shipping but I would give the hotel a call and explain the situation - they will hopefully be more helpful than if you were wanting food delivered or similar.

When are you going as the post doesn’t seem exactly quick - about 10 days for a letter though a parcel should be quicker.

Are you worried about UK or US airport as they have porters that can help in MCO.

We have had medical supplies shipped for our son several times to Disney hotels. It was all done through the NHS for us. Our son is gastrostomy fed. His feeds and supplies (syringes) we’re all delivered to the hotel by Nutricia. We had to send his passport to Nutricia and give a name of a person at the hotel to receive the parcel. They did all the customs stuff to get it through. The dietician supplied the medical/NHS letter which went with the equipment which said how many of each thing was required. Some of our medical supplies were liquid feeds.

There was no cost to ourselves.

Could you go through your GP or consultant to get support with this?

Thank you; this is hopeful. He is tube fed and has catheters and drainage bags and lots of syringes for meds, so maybe they can help.

If not, I think contacting the hotel is a good idea to see what they say.

Thank you for your help

We have shipped medical equipment to keep out there , think it was £300, so not cheap, they shipped it fedex on the Monday and was there by the Friday , hope nhs will do it for you

For all our sons other medical stuff tui gave us extra luggage allowance, I know it’s risky but always worked for us , we put his pills etc and stuff we knew we couldn’t get and which he couldn’t do without pills wise in our hand luggage but catheters, sterile water, syringes and medical stuff we knew we could get if something happened we put in the case and at check in tui knew it was medical

We are like you though in that it’s just us so even that extra medical case makes it hard for us to manage but the airport both sides have always helped us to the hired car
