Liquid Medication in hand luggage- does it need to be within the little plastic bag ?

We are flying EasyJet in a couple of weeks .
Just down a google / search on their website but can’t find a definitive answer.
I will try to give them a call but expecting a long wait , so thought I would ask on here 😀

Basically planning on hand luggage only , much cheaper and no waits for bags getting lost 😀. Done it before just me and the missus

But just realised my daughter will need to take her medication on board - nothing too specialist but a fair bit of liquid - though all 100ml or less.

Do I need to put her medication in those little clear bags ? And hence it count towards our allowance of liquids ?

Presumably the liquids need to be unopened and in original packing which will add to size ?

Thanks for any help

It does need to go in the little plastic bags - all liquids have to go in. Although you don’t get an allowance as such so you will be fine with your other stuff. Don’t forget there is a Boots/WH Smith after security where you can buy toiletries etc

I always take a copy of prescription with me. They usually take it away to test it- takes a minute or two added to time through security- have a great trip.

As long as its in the original packing all you meed to do is let them know at security you have medicines. This applies to both liquid and tablet form.

Thanks guys
I rang them up this morning.
Not sure the guy really understood what I was saying .
I kept asking if the liquid medication needed to be in the little see through bag with your other liquids.
Or if we could take one little see through bag each PLUS the medication .
All he kept saying was yes you can put in your hand luggage.

So I am officially none the wiser as to whether we can take one see through bag each PLUS the medication .

I asked about taking a prescription and he said your need a letter from the GP.

This is what the local paper said EasyJet were telling people even though seemingly it’s not true .
According to this report .
lancashiretelegraph.co.u...stop-boarding/

But I do remember now we actually went away with DD last year just hand luggage without knowing any of the rules - just assuming it’s liquid , not more than 100ml and away we go

Anyway missus has arranged with doctors to get a certificate and copy prescription ao that’s £25 of the saving from not having hand luggage gone !

Is this for mediation OVER 100ml.?
All ours is 100ml or less

Also just measuring she will need 3 *100ml and 3*70ml bottles and these won’t all fit in one of the clear plastic bags because of their shape/size .

Do you take yours within the clear plastic bag or as extras ?
Thanks

The gov site is less than clear and I have now spoken to 3 different EasyJet people and all have a different answer 🥲

I take liquid medication, vials of insulin, plus insulin pens, left in original packaging. Never had a problem taking through. I usually put medication on its own in a separate clear bag to my other liquids.

Great thanks .
I will hope we can take separately as they would take up over half of our liquid ‘ capacity ‘ otherwise .
I don’t fancy throwing away half of our small size toiletries just to take medication

Would be grateful for other experiences - thanks

It seems such a simple question that I can’t believe how impossible it is to find the answer online

We take a 300ml bottle in a seperate clear bag. I would’ve thought maybe a consultant letter would do maybe? As long as it states the meds. X

I’ve just double checked the size of her bottle it is 300mls, and we take it as extras-always in a bag of its own. Once I was quizzed a bit what it was for but by the time I was halfway listing her diagnoses he lost interest!
