We enjoyed the Chelsea Market and then had a short walk on the high line after. It's a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city but there's not masses going on.

I wouldn't avoid the subways. They are definitely the easiest way to get around.

Well I’m back and the trip was amazing!
We actually didn’t walk the highline in the end, we walked to Roosevelt Tramway and went on the cable car across the river and walked to four freedom park, the panoramic views of Manhattan were just stunning.
Thanks for answering my questions 😄

We walked it last Sunday morning - it was amazing (but ti was very hot and humid) so finished off having refreshment at Hudson Yards. Really enjoyed it - then a stroll to Central Park ; perfect Sunday topped off by a visit to Pt Patricks Cathedral before tickets to go up top of the rock for sunset (that was the only fly in the ointments - it was FAR too busy/crowded for my liking - making $ over style and as such I would no longer recommend TOTR. ESB the next evening was far more relaxed as they limited visitor numbers so all could get the views and Enjoy it more - much better vfm (TOTR has changed so much since I first went there 16 years ago)

The highline is well worth doing - a real highlight and its a must do really

We also did a helicopter tour over and around Manhattan with heliNY - it was a spouse for my BIL birthday. OMG it was fabulous - very professional company and a good half hour tour. Not cheap but then again where else can you fly over Statue of Liberty ?

(I have some other better photos but they have my family on so wont post)

Honestly, I really enjoyed getting out of the traffic and noise and escaping for a few hours (I really do love the hustle and bustle of NYC... but need a break, so this and central park are both great for this)

See lots of cool little art pieces, and there was a Disney cruise ship docked when we were there last time

We’ve been twice and enjoyed it each time, lots of places to sit and watch the world go by.
