1 or 2 nights in Monterey?
Hi
I had originally planned 1 night in Monterey but whilst researching the place and hotels there seems quite a lot to do and a lovely spot. We are definitely wanting to do a whale watching trip whilst there. My current itinerary is 3 nights SF 1 night Monterey 2 nights Yosemite 5 nights Vegas 6 nights Palm Springs Appreciate your thoughts on whether we would be best adding a night to Monterey. I personally would spend at least 2 nights in Monterey. We had 4 but this included a day to Cupertino and Santa Cruz.
It is a lovely area and the whale watching is fantastic. The aquarium is a must do imo. And we love Palm Springs but you could easily do what you need to do there in 5 or less days. |

Looking at that I would cut either your Vegas time or Palm Springs, Monterey is so pretty and nice to just mooch about, you certainly don't want to be rushing yourself around.

Depends on what you want to do in Monterey. If you got there by lunchtime one day and left at lunchtime the next you would be able to see all of it. However if as you say you want to do a whale watching trip or something else more time consuming you would want another night.
But just general visit of it and Carmel could be done with one night. |

I too would suggest longer, and for Yosemite too. personally I'd drop a couple of nights (or more) in Palm Springs. If being baking hot and lying by the pool is your thing, then fine, otherwise maybe spend more time further North?
Monterey is great, Carmel, 17 mile drive, aquarium, whale-watching - we love it there. |

Think we had 2 nights in Palm Springs and were bored. I'd spend more time around Mounteray or San Francisco and less in Palm Springs.
