Booking a Universal Hotel but not actually using the room
Hi Guys,
Has any one booked one of the Universal hotels to get the express passes and then not actually stayed at the hotel? Is this ok to do? Many Thanks Lyns |

Not done it but you would need to check in as your room key is your EP. Don't think there would be an issue if you didn't sleep there though. As long as you've paid then they'll probably like the fact that it won't really need housekeeping in there for long.

Yes we did this. Went to the hotel. Checked in, got room keys, but never actually went up to our room. No issues.

We booked a night at Hard Rock but we did stay in the room. We checked in at 7, straight over to the park, went back to the room in the afternoon when we were flagging and had some lunch and a swim. We then went back in to the park for the evening. It may be worth having the room for the day even if you just want to go back for a rest.
You also get the express passes the day after too. Easier to get in to the park for opening from the room than coming in from other accommodation. I don’t see the advantage of not using the room really. |

We booked one night at Royal Pacific in 2017 we did actually stay there but wished we hadn’t as we had a lovely 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom condo a few miles away that we had left to stay at universal, we were then all staying in one room one bathroom for the night which we hated! And no food either!
We would definitely book and not stay if you have better accommodation else where |

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just stay the night at the hotel, the 3 deluxe hotels that offer express pass are all lovely and if you’ve paid for the room just stay over and enjoy

and how do you check out the next day, go back again the next morning? |

I did this planning to go back to our villa, but then we decided to use the room and actually it was a godsend to be able to walk back to the hotel after an exhausting park day, and then another early start next morning! We literally got back to the hotel and slept, then out again early but it was a huge lovely comfy bed and so convenient!

We were a party of 6 staying in a villa. Only got 1 room at the hotel and 4 express passes (grandparents who came were not worried about skipping the lines). It didn't work for us to split our group up for the night. And it didn't make sense to book a second room when the extra express passes would not be used. The hotel booking was just a cheaper (£220) way of getting express passes for the 4 of us.
You don't need to go back to check out. You could send an email to check out. |
