Esta help please

I've just started to fill in my esta application and got to the bit where it says "are you known by any other name or alias"
Because my passport is in my maiden name still I use this name on the application, should I then put my new married surname in the section that asked for "are you know by any other name?" Bearing in mind the debit card I'm using to pay for the esta is in my new married surname?

Just do it in your maiden name and leave the ‘any other names’ blank. Assume your flight tickets are also in maiden name?

Your passport must match your Esta so put in your maiden name. My daughter still has a passport in her maiden name and my daughter in law has only just got a new passport in her married name. Very confusing for me and I have to be very careful when doing our Estas.

I would go.for.mainden name on ESTA if that is what is on your passport.

My preference would be for ticket, passport and ESTA to match.

They are not going to care who paid for your ESTA.

Why make your life hard, just apply for a passport in your married name. When we went a few years ago the immigration officer checked our passports and our flight tickets !. I was so relieved that all my paper work was in my married name. Went to South Africa last year and they did the same checked passport against ticket and asked for another form of ID, showed driving licence. Told my sister what had happened and she said that they can do what ever they want and that most people just go along with it.

In your case it might be better if everyone does their own.
