Does anyone ever book more ADR's than needed?

We have a couple of restaurants booked on 2 different days as I haven't quite decided which day we'll be at that park. As I finalise the plans coming up to FP day I will cancel the extras so somebody else can have them. Sometimes we change our plans while we are there and I end up cancelling restaurants and booking different ones instead.

I’m going to be booking a few extra this time mainly because of the uncertainty around the opening of Space 220 and also trying to get boarding passes for RotR means we might need to swap park days round. I’ll let any extras go as quickly as I can, though. I don’t like holding onto extras if I can help it

I did think it changed so the same person could not book 2 ADRs at similar times. The way around this is to book using 2 different names.

I've found that I can book 2 as long as they are at least one hour apart.

Yep. I'll always book the 1 or 2 restaurants that are hard to come by on multiple days. Will then release on FP day. (BOG lunch and cantina this time)

These days we change our ADRs all the time when in the parks, so I don't bother with most.

Well in spite of what I said earlier about not booking up something I'm not intending to use, I have in fact today booked up a second ADR for the Plaza at MK . I only plan on going once, but I'm dithering about which day to go. So I've now got two ADRs for this restaurant, one of which will be cancelled when I make my mind up
