Wow, this is so funny, I have the opposute problem. I wanted to fly out of Dublin direct with AL at end of May for 3 weeks but am saving 1200euro for 5 of us by going Dublin-Man-Mco with VA.

We did MAN-DUB-MCO in August. Worth it for the saving!
Biggest problems we had were with check in, not enough check in provision at either side. The queue was long. At MCO it was particularly bad. I’m assuming that is because there are only 2 flights a week :/

Hi Mike, our Dublin friends think AL are superb, their airline of choice, pre-clearance is the cherry on top.

Have a smashing holiday Mike

My view is that the Aer Lingus flight is now to late to be much of a benefit. With VIrgin you queue at MCO, but still get to your hotel a lot earlier. And going home the hassle of having to do another flight in the morning makes it even more unattractive. An eralier flight from DUblin with AA or delta indirect would be better, but a bit of a pain, but then its 3 flights on the way home and that last one is a nice one to avoid, as you just want to get home after the transatlantic flight.
But the savings need to be taken into account, so its difficult if budget is important.
