Plain sparkling water. Can someone explain the difference between chilli bottles and plain old run of the mill sports direct ones? Sounds to me like the Monster HDMI gold pins all over again... is there any scientific reviews or even reviews on youtube where people have tested these against your average thermos?

Ooh some nice ideas,
The prosecco one is handy to know.
I forgot I had some of the Robinsons crushed lime and mint that I bought at the beginning of the summer, I like that one.
Sorry Jas72, I don't know what the differences are I went mainly with the shape (narrow and tall, fits in bag side pocket better), and the design.
It's a while to our trip so I'll see if they are worth getting more for the kids.

I don’t own a chilli bottle but bought this 750ml bottle in Home Bargains for £3-99 , I popped a couple of ice cubes in it with chilled water , didn’t drink any of the water as I wanted to see how well the bottle worked and after 12 hours there was still some fragments of ice in it , I think that proves it works well .
Since then I have been using it to take water to bed, without putting ice in it and in the morning any remaining water is still very cold .

Edited to add , they don’t come in the variety of pretty designs/ colours but they do the job fine . There are loads of them around now that you can buy for around £10/£15 that have funky colours designs but I’m a tight wad and happy enough with my plain one 😊

It is quite sweet , I liken it to Ribena.
On a different note I used to drink loads of sparkling water as I like the fizz , then I realised the amount of salt that was in some brands , who would have thought it had salt in it ? some a lot more than others . I stopped drinking it and then realised I wasn’t as thirsty , the salt must have encouraged the thirst .

I just bought one at airport and was going to put my iced latte in it but DD said someone at work said anything other than water and they go funny?

Interesting about the salt, I must check that out. I usually drink Pellegrino but have High blood pressure and never thought to check sparking water for the salt content.

Some brands have quite a high salt content , I think Pelligrino is quite low in salt , some of the supermarket ones have a higher level , I have done some research 😊 it’s added purely for taste . it makes sense though as salt reduction is why a lot of ready meals taste bland , I try and cut down on salt , I hardly ever buy ready meals but even cutting down drastically on salt home made meals taste so much better .
You would never think of putting salt in a glass of tap water but they do in some bottled water .

I’ve got a 750ml pink flamingo Chilli Bottle for work. Last week I drank just over half of it and there was still ice in it 32 hours later. I only use plain water and ice cubes in it.
