Where are you travelling to - it may be due to BA needing to check your documentation.

Last time I flew with BA to MCO back in December 2019, I was the only one who couldn't check in out of my party of 9. This was due to me having additional security checks and SSSS on my boarding cards when I was given it by check-in staff at Gatwick.

Try not to stress, security checks are normal but given everything else that’s been going on I totally get your anxiety. I’m going in just over 2 weeks and I’m stressing about everything whereas before we just tipped up at the airport.
I would suggest getting to airport early only for the seating situation (which I also think will be fine!)

This has happened to me before. As others said, try not to worry. Out of our party of 4, I was the only one who could check in and they all had to have extra gate security checks when we flew to TPA in 2017.

It may not be the same but we flew BA recently and couldn’t check in on line and I think it was document checks. Seats should already be allocated though 🤞

We've not been able to check-in for LHR-LAX tomorrow morning. I'm not bothered. We've made time to do it at the airport.

Are your ESTAs ok. We had this when DH had changed renewed his passport but we hadn't done the ESTA to match it. We didn't realise it was linked to the passport, not the person! Had to do it at the airport with much stress

I had that on my last 2 BA flights. April 2018, friend snd I couldn’t check in online but Ds could - extra security - checked in at Edinburgh snd checks at Gatwick were fine.

Summer 2019, Ds and Dh were fine but extra security for me again. Checked in at Edinburgh, extra check was fine and we all got upgraded.
