If we have to cancel DCL. . . .

I know it's ages away but I'd like a backup plan. If we have to cancel DCL because the teenager can only have one vaccine and that isn't enough (don't think this is confirmed either way yet?) what would you do instead?

First week is universal, then we were planning to drive down to Miami for the cruise and fly home from there. My husband has floated the idea of flying somewhere else in the States for a few days, dude ranch, New Orleans etc. Flights are already booked to fly home from Miami.

So what would your back up plan be?

Unfortunately, they are also stating children need to be double vaccinated.

You might have missed the recent news, but anyone aged five or above will need to be fully (ie double-dosed) vaccinated for DCL cruises from mid-January-ish.

Yes, thanks I've seen that. I'm hopeful that before then we might be able to buy the second dose for the purpose of travel. Things still change quite quickly.

If not we're happy to explore a different place. Could even be an opportunity.

Kids 12 and over, under 12 don't need to be.

In this case it's a teenager so you are right, good spot.

Its too early to make any rash decisions over our cruise in August but should nothing change in terms of the vaccine programme for those U15 come time, we'll spend a few days in South Florida instead. Maybe drive down to the keys.

We are in the same boat having a Disney Cruise depart Miami with flights home from MIA after. Unfortunately our kids are 8 and 9 meaning we probably will not be able to go now if they need to be vaccinated.

We have decided we would just hire a car and do a bit of a road trip around the Florida Keys and stop at a few different hotels.

I think a cruise on any ship is out at least at the moment.
Road trip does sound good there is a lot more to Florida than just Orlando and the parks
