Oh the crepes look amazing, I’d like to try them.

Voodoo - oh how I miss the apple crisp 😂

Glad to hear the pizza tots might be like HHN pizza fries - not had them yet but next years the year for sure!

How’s hard rock? No construction issues I assume? Your room looks lovely.

Velocicoaster is honestly amazing! The queues for it are also not that bad. We’ve done it 3 times in 24 hours 😂 Thanks and enjoy your trip too!

Hard Rock is lovely, we really like it (not stayed here before). Construction is barely noticeable, just a couple of the walk ways unavailable and a bit of scaffolding up but we haven’t heard anything and our room has been put away from it.

We went back into Islands this evening to watch the Magic of Christmas Nighttime Lights show at Hogwarts Castle (which is amazing) and fit in another ride on Velocicoaster. On our way, we stopped by Voodoo Doughnuts.

I picked up the ODB and W had an Oh Captain, My Captain.

The ODB was nice however they’d picked it up over the peanut butter icing and so it all fell off on the paper and I’d had to try and piece it back together again, hence the slightly odd design on the photo!

The Oh Captain however was the winner here, it was sweet and crunchy but still pretty light and nice to eat. We’d both have this again.

The beautiful Castle show:

After the parks closed, we already had a reservation for Cowfish. When we arrived, it was heaving with queues out the door for both reservations checking in and walk ups. They said they weren’t quite ready for us and they’d text us when the table was ready. At this point I noticed our number was down as +1 rather than +44 so she corrected it, however I did explain that a couple of times this trip restaurant texts hadn’t come through to me, likely because of the British number (we also had similar issues in Margaritaville on Hollywood Beach). She promised it would work and off we went to wait an extra 15 mins past the reservation time for our table… 25 mins however then passed and we still hadn’t been text. I went to check and we’d been put down as a no show for not turning up when text, which we’d never received! I don’t know what’s going on with the texting but it isn’t working even though we’re giving our number in the right format. My advice would therefore be to definitely book CityWalk restaurants at the moment as they seem to be understaffed and so can take on less (especially around park closing times) but also to check back if you were meant to receive any texts from the restaurant but haven’t - you likely will have been called for your table but just don’t know about it!

Anyway, when we finally got in we were escorted up to the tower which is on a separate floor to the rest of Cowfish. We didn’t even know it existed!

We had a lovely server who suggested drinks for us and went through the menu in detail. He actually picked the Ruby Panther cocktail for me which I’ve had before and was happy to have again; it’s Deep Eddy Ruby vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice, pink lemonade and raspberries. W just had a Bud Light. Both were good.

We then opted to share the following starter:

These were really, really good. The crab dip was super tasty and W wanted to order more of this on its own! The tuna also melted in your mouth and everything came together really well.

For entree, I ordered the following burger and upgraded the fries to Parmesan bacon truffle fries.

W also ordered a burger with the same upgraded fries. This time the burger was as follows:

Both burgers were good however the upgraded fries were absolutely amazing! Under the top layer of bacon and Parmesan there was a delicious cheese sauce which we both loved.

While we did enjoy the burgers, we both agreed that next time we might come back and share a few appetisers as they do the Parmesan bacon truffle fries in a larger appetiser size, we loved the tuna nachos and they also have other great sounding options like some sprouts which sound crispy and lovely like the ones we had in Fort Lauderdale.

The bill was as follows:

Shoutout to our server here who was really excellent and knew the menu inside out!

Volcano Bay tomorrow with premium seating and then we’re hoping to spend the evening at the outlets and the new Cheesecake Factory

WOW these food pics are AMAZING 💕💕
Especially on a freezing cold day in Essex 😳🥶
Definitely going to try the crepes when I go next, I’m just wondering how much weight you put on with all this food 😳
Hubbie puts on a stone & I put on at least 9lbs
This is even with our run & gym sessions

Hopefully not too much! We are walking approx. 25,000 steps each day and swimming where we can. Maybe I should add an aftermath section of the report to update on the damage

So this morning we’ve invested in a Christmas themed refillable mug $18.10 for the mug and today’s refills.

Love that reusable cup 🎄

We’re currently at Volcano Bay and it’s the quietest I’ve ever seen it because our USA friends think 21 degrees is freezing 😂 there’s not a cloud in the sky, there’s no wind and it’s certainly not cold!

We were the first ones in the park this morning and had a Premium Seating reservation. We’re also the only ones with a Premium Seating reservation today I can’t say they were needed as it’s so empty however they are lovely! Comfortable, padded loungers and includes a safe, so no need to rent lockers, and you can get food/drinks delivered to your beds. There’s also a cover over them for shade.

We did have an issue on arrival though - apparently you have to rent towels at Volcano Bay even if you’re a hotel guest (and they aren’t included in Premium Seating). We’ve never had this issue before and have alternated between bringing them from the on-site hotel or picking them up here using our room key… they’re adamant that this was never a thing but I’ve definitely done it at least twice on previous trips! I complained and eventually 2 free towels appeared so it’s no issue but otherwise it was $6 per towel to rent them, or a bus journey back to Hard Rock to collect some free ones and bring them here… it doesn’t really make sense. So heads up to always remember towels even if you’re a hotel guest

Bit of a pain with the towels especially when you’ve booked premium seating.
