🎄Great news regarding testing coming home from New York🎄
The pop up tents around the city will preform your Antigen Teats for free! Just turn up wait in line with your passports and 20 minutes later your results will be emailed with a certificate to fly.
Where exactly is this? My sister went to NY yday. Thanks!

Really annoyed by this. Omicron is already here and no doubt spreading. What does this achieve?

How was this enforced last time then? Is it likely to be ok to take tests with us in our cases and do them there?

I will have to look at my Staysure policy to see what is covered because this needlessly introduces a huge risk of being stranded now. The post arrival test was preferable as at least you were already home and could quarantine there.

I suspect they will bring in day 8 home testing again as well. When it’s announced it dodges the immune system, even if it’s hardly killing anyone and by then there will be tens of thousands (already likely thousands) of cases here already.
I think this will now finish off some further travel companies unfortunately, very sad.

This is shocking misdirection isn't it. They can't blame the virus, they knew Omicron was here and already spreading so I'm not sure what new information led to a complete reversal.

The government are bone headed about the some issues and spineless on others. You can't rely on a word they say.

Sorry, yes, that’s exactly what I meant.

You need to be absolutely sure that your insurance will cover you for what may be an extended stay out of country.

Even an LFT can return positive for some weeks after infection has passed.

Indeed.

But the test won’t be Omicron-specific, and Delta has started its winter growth spurt in many US states recently.

Nothing has been said about the PCR test on return, but seems pretty pointless doing it additional at day 0-2, they would be better to move it to day 8 and make no quarantine required and/or lateral flow.

Anyone know if we can get a test to take with us at Heathrow?
