DDP is Deluxe worth it?
2 adults and one infant (under 3) visiting for 14 days Sept 2018 staying at AKL. Is Deluxe DP worth the extra money? Only 2 adults have plan, 35 month old sharing.

It depends how many signature meals you have planned and whether you'd be paying for appetisers. Generally I would say no. Most people who upgrade to deluxe eat mainly at signatures and like 3 courses.

As a couple it may be, but I wouldn't want to be doing that many sit down meals with a 2 year old
Some can take 1.5-2hrs, it really eats into your park time Whilst we enjoyed the character meals, we spent a lot of time going to, coming from or sitting in restaurants. It our main reason for choosing the QSDP this time

Will I be able to revert back to DDP which is free with Virgin Holidays do you think?

You'll need to ask Virgin. They may do it but charge an amendment fee.
Have you already upgraded? |

This. Also any time you use a deluxe credit for breakfast or for any QS meal, you just get the standard entitlements of main + drink and not three courses like you do for TS lunch/dinner on deluxe. So it's pretty poor value if you intend on using QS at all, or will have any meals off-site as you could quickly rack up unused credits.
Plus don't forget that tipping is expected at all TS meals, and 18-20% is recommended. On three courses at Disney prices, that adds up pretty fast. At a signature, you could easily be looking at $35-50 just on the tip, not including any alcohol which is always an additional cost regardless of plan. I considered upgrading to have the flexibility but I went through the menus and worked out which TS I really wanted to eat at. The regular DDP credits would be enough to cover that, with maybe one meal OOP if we do the entire list. But this was going to be likely anyway, as the Sanaa bread service is top of the list and it's not a main so not covered on DDP. Edited at 09:33 PM. |

Yes, did it today. I was having a blonde moment and worked out daily amount of upgrade cost thinking £65 per day for 3 meals for 3 people was good but forgot to take into account that already had DP free and therefore the £65 is for 1 meal!
